How Do We Start The Process?

I'm often scheduled a month or so in advance so email me early so we can arrange a date for you on my calendar.

I edit in Word, using Track Changes. Please send your mss. in the following format— double-spaced, Times New Roman font, 12 point pitch—as an e-mail attachment. Your notated manuscript will be returned to you, along with an editorial letter explaining writing issues or listing guidelines that need more attention.

Email is the quickest way to reach me. It's often difficult to reach me via phone because when I'm concentrating on editing, my phone is turned off. If you do need to speak with me, however, we can arrange a date and time for a phone consult, and I'll be happy to brainstorm, discuss your story, or give you the help you need.

At the time you submit, please make sure I have your name, address, phone number, and email address in case a question comes up and I need to reach you.

I charge $5.00 per page for the first 100 pages, or $4.25 per page for the entire manuscript. Phone consultations are billed at $20.00 per hour. You may pay by check (mailing address provided below). The check is never deposited until the editing is done and the pages are ready to come back to you. If you prefer, you may send a check for half the amount at the time you submit the manuscript and send the balance when the editing is done. Payment (at the same per-page rate) may also be made via PayPal.
